TOUR GUIDE: Mexico City’s best sights and history

For the eighth time in the history of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, we’re back and ready for battle in Mexico City on Saturday, 13 January. Built between 1949 and 1956, Torre Latinoamericana (which translates directly Latin-American Tower) is the highest city viewpoint in Mexico City. Mexico City’s not short of food markets but Mercado de la Merced is one of the biggest and best for local cuisine. With Formula E’s legacy in Mexico City dating back to 2016, in that time, Mexico has reported a 68% growth in EV and hybrid vehicle sales, with the aim of reaching 50% hybrid or EVs by 2040, and 100% by 2050.
