Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain ended the NASCAR Cup Series season ninth in the standings, which is his second-best career effort in NASCAR’s premier division. 1 Chevrolet earned two race wins in 36 races — one at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway and a second during the season finale at Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway — and had an average finish of 15. Though he made the Cup Series Playoffs for a second consecutive year — as he finished runner-up to champion Joey Logano last season — the Florida native was eliminated at the Round of 12 cutoff race this go-round. The 30-year-old will contest his sixth full-time campaign in the Cup Series next year.
