Marc Marquez Undergoes Successful Surgery

BARCELONA, Spain – Marc Marquez has undergone successful surgery to repair his broken right humerus following a crash in the MotoGP opener on Sunday. Marquez crashed his Repsol Honda bike late in Sunday’s opener at Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto and was later diagnosed with a broken right humerus. He traveled to Barcelona, Spain, on Monday Hospital Universitari Dexeus for surgery to repair the injury. Dr. Xavier Mir and his team, in collaboration with Dr. Barrera, performed an open reduction and internal fixation of a titanium plate to the right humerus. Marquez is now recovering from successful surgery and will remain hospitalized for up to 48 hours.
