Lewis Hamilton’s cross-tracking breach in Qatar will be ‘revisited’ by the FIA, despite the stewards handing him a €50,000 (£43,000) fine at the time. Today, an FIA spokesman said: ‘The FIA is revisiting the incident in which Lewis Hamilton crossed a live track during the Qatar Grand Prix. ‘The FIA notes that Lewis was apologetic during the subsequent stewards hearing into the incident and acknowledged that crossing was a serious safety breach. ‘However, in view of his role-model status, the FIA is concerned about the impression his actions may have created on younger drivers.’. FIA insiders have told Mail Sport that they don’t seek to single out Hamilton, 38.
