BAKKERUD TARGETS FIGHT BACK IN HOLJES R2

Norway’s Andreas Bakkerud, the 2019 FIA World Rallycross Vice-Champion, had a challenging debut in the Monster Energy GCK RX Cartel Renault Megane RS RX in round one of the 2020 season at Holjes-Sweden yesterday, and didn’t make the semi-finals. The seven time World RX event winner was quickest in Free Practice, but his hopes faded away during the three qualifiers and he ended up P13 in the Intermediate Classification. In round two of the season today, also at Holjes in the first ever World RX double header weekend, Bakkerud will line up together with round one winner, Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson, Russia’s Timur Timerzyanov and Sweden’s Mattias Ekstrom. Doran and Bakkerud were P15 and P7 in morning warm-up before Q1, as Sweden’s Timmy Hansen set the quickest time.
