View from the service park

There’s no denying it, the view from the service park was quite unlike one we’d ever seen before in the FIA World Rally Championship. Those changes only served to heighten the appreciation for the WRC’s restart. Estonia was a great host and its maiden WRC round the perfect launchpad to fire the series back into business. If Tänak’s pace was telegraphed, Craig Breen was a one-man PR machine for the latest-specification i20 World Rally Car. Yes, they rutted more than even seasoned Estonian challengers had seen before, but they provided the sort of high-speed mind-bending action we’ve missed so badly for the last few months. In terms of fast rallies this season, Estonia is the new Finland.
