Vergne will treat da Costa as he would expect to be treated himself if he were in the Portuguese driver’s shoes – needing to finish the day 60 points clear of the next-best in the standings to seal the title. “I will definitely help him if I can and more importantly, help the team with the Teams’ Championship. I would expect exactly the same if the roles were reversed.”

DS Techeetah currently sits 74 points clear of BMW i Andretti Motorsport in the Teams’ table with 96 available after Round 9.
