While their hero Takamoto Katsuta was standing on the Secto Rally Finland podium, the next generation of Toyota Gazoo Racing WRC Challenge Program drivers were all busy impressing former Finland winner and chief instructor Mikko Hirvonen. Small mistakes meant they couldn’t bring that result home, but Hirvonen was happy with their speed on their first time competing at the WRC’s fastest event. Like in other rallies this year, when it’s been fast and flowing, Yuki could show really good pace. Hikaru was also really fast and in a very close fight with Yuki before his crash, while Nao could set a good pace when he restarted. Katsuta, who celebrated his fourth WRC podium in Finland, was one of the first drivers selected.
