Rally Estonia winner Ott Tänak praised his Hyundai Motorsport team for the lockdown improvements which allowed him to control the FIA World Rally Championship’s restart event at the weekend. After going into the WRC’s enforced lockdown on the back foot after a disappointing display in Mexico in March, Hyundai came back with all guns blazing to leave Tänak impressed and relieved. “This high-profile event proved that if we were missing something before, here definitely we were up there and performing. We knew that we have to take the points from this event and we have to win. Ott Tänak survived a late scare to deliver a popular home victory at Estonia’s first-ever FIA World Rally Championship round … Tänak had a scare after sliding into a bank in the penultimate speed test.
