Silverstone Race Zone: Mercedes feel the heat with their tyre issues though Lewis Hamilton still hits new records but Sebastian Vettel’s final year at Ferrari is turning into a horror show

Max Verstappen ended Mercedes’ unbeaten run to the start of the season by taking victory at  Formula One’s 70th Anniversary Grand Prix. Max Verstappen eased to victory as his Red Bull coped with the blistering heat at Silverstone. Hamilton though has done it in just 255 races, 53 races fewer than the German. Sebastian Vettel had another spin at F1’s 70th Anniversary Grand Prix during a tough race. The Finn looked miffed after the race having claimed Mercedes’ race strategy was ‘sub-optimal’. Hamilton has been so used to winning in recent times that he ended up walking off the podium with the wrong trophy!. Verstappen’s win from fourth on the grid marks the first time since last year’s Mexican Grand Prix that a driver from below pole position has won a race.
