INDIANAPOLIS – Graham Rahal of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing will be the first driver to make a qualifying attempt for the 104th Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday. His Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing teammate, 2017 Indianapolis 500 winner Takuma Sato, will be the second driver to make a qualifying attempt. Josef Newgarden, the defending series champion, will be the ninth driver to make a qualifying attempt. Alexander Rossi, winner of the 100th Indianapolis 500, will be the 12th driver to make his attempt and be followed by two-time Formula One champion Fernando Alonso. J.R. Hildebrand is scheduled to be the last driver to make a qualifying attempt.
