Race Notes – Verstappen wins wet-dry Imola race

Max Verstappen took maximum points in race with drying conditions in his Red Bull to win the Emilio Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, 16.527 seconds ahead of his team mate Sergio Perez. At the start of lap 5 the race resumes with Verstappen in the lead. The next lap Verstappen, Leclerc and Norris pit as well and all drivers are on dry tyres. On lap 27 Verstappen sets fast lap at 1m21.095s, and once again the next lap at 1m20.692s. At lap 30 Verstappen leads Perez by 9.7 seconds, followed by Leclerc (11.3s), Norris (25.8s), Russell (32.2s), Bottas (44.0s), Vettel (52.4s), Magnussen (56.4s), Tsunoda (1m00.1s) and Stroll (1m02.8s) in tenth. On lap 32 Verstappen sets fast lap at 1m20.587s, and again the next lap at 1m20.550s. On lap 51 Leclerc sets fast lap at 1m19.206s, and is less than a second behind Perez.
