Motor racing icon Gil de Ferran sadly passed away last month, and one of the teams closest to his heart, McLaren, will pay tribute to their “dear friend” at races across the championships they compete in this season, including with NEOM McLaren here in Mexico City. The team said: “Gil’s time at McLaren Racing, both in our IndyCar and Formula 1 teams, has been pivotal in our forward development and his legacy will continue to shape our team’s future.”. McLaren will also carry Gil’s name on their race cars at the following race events:Formula 1 – Bahrain Testing and Bahrain Grand PrixIndyCar – Grand Prix of St. PetersburgExtreme E – Desert X Prix, Saudia Arabia.
