JOS VERSTAPPEN “enjoyed” watching his son lap Lewis Hamilton during the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix last week as the Mercedes driver continues to struggle. Hamilton’s season went from bad to worse on Sunday when he finished 13th in Imola. But, Max’s father Jos has made it clear that he does not sympathise with Hamilton whatsoever. In a column on Vertappen’s official website, he wrote: “Honestly, I did enjoy seeing Max lap Hamilton, after everything that happened last year. “It’s not often you have the opportunity to lap a Mercedes.”. Hamilton and Verstappen were fierce rivals last season as they battled for the championship title.
