Lewis Hamilton snatches his 100th pole position at the Spanish Grand Prix after just edging out Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas in Barcelona

Lewis Hamilton took pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix – the 100th of his career. 1 Hamilton; 2 Verstappen; 3 Bottas; 4 Leclerc; 5 Ocon; 6 Sainz; 7 Ricciardo; 8 Perez; 9 Norris; 10 Alonso. Now Hamilton has come to the party, he has gone three thousands of a second  quicker than Max Verstappen with a 1:16.741, while Bottas is just a tenth down in third. What a lap from Max Verstappen who sets a 1.16.922 to go nearly half-a-second quicker than Bottas. Again, it’s all about getting into the top 10 but Bottas is fastest again with a 1:17.400 – over two tenths quicker than Hamilton. And it’s the under pressure Bottas who goes fastest with a 1:18.005, less than a tenth quicker than Verstappen and two tenths quicker than Hamilton.
