FERNANDO ALONSO has raised doubts about Lewis Hamilton’s claim that driving for Ferrari had been a “childhood dream”. Hamilton recently dropped the bombshell that he would be leaving Mercedes for Ferrari in 2025, leaving one of the best seats in F1 open for the taking. Alonso evidently did not buy this and used the new launch of his new Aston Martin car to vent his frustration, saying: “It was not his childhood dream 12 months ago, no?. In Hamilton’s first season, 2007, the then McClaren team-mates had a mighty fall-out and Alonso’s contract was subsequently terminated. Only last year he said of Hamilton: “I have a lot of respect for him. Alonso, 42, might be two-time world champion but he has not won a race since the 2013 season.
