Las Vegas Grand Prix: How a plan 40 years in the making finally came to fruition

It hopes to create the most spectacular event the sport has ever staged, and has so far spent more than £500m on the Las Vegas Grand Prix. This is not the first grand prix to be held in Las Vegas. In 1981 and 1982, a race was staged on a track built in the parking lot of the Caesars Palace hotel.
