Gryazin wins in Hungary after late Østberg drama

Nikolay Gryazin gave himself the best possible Croatia Rally (22 – 25 April) preparation with victory at Saturday’s Therwoolin Boldogko Rally in Hungary. The Norwegian was making his first appearance of the season in his Citroën C3 Rally2. Gryazin was first to encounter a tyre issue on the penultimate stage, leaving Østberg to go into the last test with a 15sec advantage. The Citroën pilot then suffered his own tyre trouble and slipped to fifth. We are running with new tyres and I need to understand the limits of the tyre. I’m very disappointed to lose the win, but big congratulations to Nikolay Gryazin who won the rally.”.
