You have to go back to the last race of the 2013 season for the last time that four Brits started on the grid: Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Jenson Button (McLaren-Mercedes), Paul di Resta (Force India-Mercedes) and Max Chilton (Marussia). And you have to go back to Suzuka in 2000 for the last time (before yesterday) that four British drivers finished in the points: David Coulthard (McLaren-Mercedes), Jenson Button (Williams-BMW), Eddie Irvine (Jaguar-Cosworth) and Johnny Herbert (Jaguar-Cosworth). Hard to see how he could have done much more as he held off Piastri for much of the race, before finishing ninth. It looks set to be another season without challenging for Mercedes but there was a wonderful moment after the race as Hamilton and Russell congratulated Bearman.
