F1 title permutations: Max Verstappen will win the championship if he and Lewis Hamilton fail to finish in Abu Dhabi, while the Dutchman can still claim victory EVEN if he finishes behind his rival… but the Brit has all the momentum with one race to go

An enthralling Formula One campaign is set for a enticing conclusion as title-leaders Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton head into the final race of the season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, level on points. However, there is the slim possibility that Hamilton could beat Verstappen to the finish line and still lose out on the title. This would be the case if Hamilton finishes in ninth, with Verstappen behind in 10th, so long as the Dutchman takes the fastest lap point. In finishing ninth, Hamilton would claim two points, while Verstappen would take one for finishing 10th, as well as the bonus point for the fastest lap. Hamilton finished seventh this season at the Monaco GP, with Verstappen in ninth in Hungary. They could even win the title should one of their drivers fail to finish the race, as long as the other finished in second.
