Formula One’s Las Vegas Grand Prix will become the sport’s ‘flagship race’ over the coming years, their chief has predicted. It will leave the US as the only country to host more than two races on the calendar, with Vegas joining the US Grand Prix in Austin and the Miami Grand Prix. ‘What happens in Las Vegas only happens in Las Vegas,’ he said in a press conference announcing the race, as per Sky Sports. ‘Nobody puts on a party like Las Vegas and I predict that this will be the iconic race, the flagship race, of F1 within a couple of years. To have a race on Saturday at 3pm, that would be a total mistake,’ he added.
