Sweden’s Mattias Ekstrom is the top qualifier (TQ) in round six of the FIA World Rallycross Championship with KYB Team JC dominating qualifying at the NESTE World RX of Riga-Latvia. Larsson’s comeback means he will start on row 1 of semi-final 1 together with Ekstrom this afternoon. He will start on pole position in semi-final 2, Team Hansen’s Timmy Hansen also on the front row. Like Larsson and Kristoffersson, Sweden’s Hansen won his race in Q3 but didn’t have the pace on new tyres to challenge Larsson’s time. GRX Taneco’s Niclas Gronholm, from Finland, was stuck battling in traffic during the qualifying races and will start alongside Sweden’s Kevin Hansen on row two of semi-final 1 in sunny Riga this afternoon. Monster Energy GCK RX Cartel’s Andreas Bakkerud and Liam Doran will both start in semi-final 2, on row two and row three.
