Scuderia Ferrari celebrates its 1000th Grand Prix in Florence

Attending the event were Ferrari President John Elkann, CEO Louis Camilleri, Vice President Piero Ferrari, President of the FIA Jean Todt, Formula 1 CEO Chase Carey, Formula 1 Managing Director Motorsport Ross Brawn, the Mayor of Florence Dario Nardella, who announced that he was handing the keys of the city to Piero Ferrari, as well as a host of former Ferrari drivers and personnel including Eddie Irvine, Jean Alesi, Stefan Johansson, Luca di Montezemolo and Stefano Domenicali. Elkann then looked to the future: ā€œAs we celebrate our first thousand races, we are already looking ahead, already thinking about the next thousand. But it is them we think of first when we go racing, because, as our founder said, Ferrari is made first and foremost of this, of its people, and the fans are an integral part of the team. I am absolutely certain of one thing, that in the next one thousand Grands Prix we will win more races than we have to date.ā€. The celebrations for Ferrariā€™s 1000th Formula 1 Grand Prix continue tomorrow at Mugello with a very special tribute.
