Saturday in Estonia: Consistent Virves heads young guns

Robert Virves flew the flag for Estonian rallying to lead the FIA Junior WRC category after an enthralling opening leg of Rally Estonia on Saturday. Four different drivers have already topped the leaderboard through the fast and sandy speed tests near Tartu, but it was Virves who was smiling most. He didn’t win a stage all day but a string of consistent top three times paid dividends. “I’m so happy and proud to be leading the first ever Junior WRC round at Rally Estonia,” he said. Sesks finished 16.2sec ahead of Pajari, who found top form this afternoon with a run of four stage wins.
