Checo and Lance completed 70 laps each in the opening practice sessions of Formula 1’s Spanish Grand Prix weekend in a productive day’s running for the team. After an opening stint in FP1 on the Softs, Checo placed P5 with a 1.19.921 lap time as Lance slotted into P7 courtesy of a 1.20.053 lap. Our drivers continued to improve their times in their first stint, with Checo rising to P3 by improving to 1.19.267. Lance then banked a 1.19.883 that moved him into P6, before his next lap produced a time of 1.19.675, good enough for P8 – moments before Checo shot up to P2 after posting 1.19.141. This time, Checo and Lance started on the Hard compound tyres – with Checo quickly moving into P6 by posting a 1.20.360. Checo would improve to P12 after a 1.20.020 lap before he ended his eight-lap stint on the Hard tyres. Lance then followed Checo into the garage after his nine-lap stint on the Hards, before both drivers headed out on the Softs.
