Nigel Mansell convinced Lewis Hamilton will BEAT Michael Schumacher’s championship record… as 1992 world champion admits ‘the biggest achievement in my F1 career is the fact I am still here now’ amid an era of driver deaths and horror injuries

Nigel Mansell has no doubts that Lewis Hamilton will establish himself as the most successful driver in Formula One history by surpassing Michael Schumacher’s record of seven world titles. Nigel Mansell appeared on The Gary Newbon Sports Show with Jewson to talk Formula One. Mansell is certain that Lewis Hamilton will surpass Michael Schumacher’s seven world titles. Hamilton, now on six, is on course to equal Schumacher (right) with the title this season. Speaking on The Gary Newbon Sports Show with Jewson, Mansell said:  ‘I don’t think there is any question (Hamilton will take the record). In Mansell’s eyes, Hamilton, Bottas and their peers on the grid now are fortunate to be racing in a sport far safer than it was 30-40 years ago. Nowadays the sport has become much driver for Hamilton (right) and his rival competitors.
