MEEKER, Okla. – Nicknamed “The Mongoose,” Shawn Mahaffey was victorious on Tuesday evening during Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division action at Red Dirt Raceway. Mahaffey won his first Stock Non-Wing feature of the season with the series, becoming the 12th different winner this year. Jack Kassik maneuvered from 10th to fourth place and Johnny Boland finished fifth. Grady Mercer, points leader Bradley Fezard and Boland were the heat race winners. The Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division will be off for the next few weeks before resuming competition Sept. 4-5 at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla., during the Pete Frazier Memorial.
