Red Bull is continuing to support Max Verstappen’s struggling teammate Alex Albon. “People downplay it but Red Bull have got a very, very strong car. Unfortunately, both drivers aren’t there like me and Valtteri are there,” he said. “He’s doing a very good job at Alpha Tauri,” Red Bull team boss Christian Horner said when asked about Gasly. Dr Helmut Marko, the head of Red Bull’s driver program, agrees with Horner. “I don’t understand the criticism of Albon,” he said. Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher also thinks Red Bull is happy with Albon from another point of view. “We can’t forget about the ownership structure at Red Bull, where it is very welcome that a Thai driver is there,” he told Sky Deutschland.
