Lewis Hamilton wins a chaotic Saudi GP to draw LEVEL with Max Verstappen heading into F1 season finale… after Brit ran into the back of the Dutchman when he had been instructed to let him pass

At the end of one of the most chaotic, dirtiest, confusing Formula One races in history, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen go to the final round in Abu Dhabi next Sunday dead level in their unforgettable duel for the motor racing championship of the world. Lewis Hamilton: ‘For me I had to try and keep my cool out there which was difficult to do. More Verstappen: ‘I was just braking for him to go by. Hamilton is up on the podium with Max Verstappen to his right again. More Verstappen: ‘Luckily the fans deserved a clear mind about racing. Lewis Hamilton: ‘I’ve been racing here a long time, that was incredibly tough. Both Hamilton and Verstappen now have their helmets off and need a lie down. Lewis Hamilton jumps out his car and jumps into the crowd of his Mercedes team. Lewis Hamilton wins the first ever Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton is now closing on a victory with a fastest lap point going his way as well. The Verstappen incident will be looked at after the race but then Hamilton races into the lead. Lewis Hamilton is now two seconds behind Max Verstappen. Hamilton is not too affected by the damage to his wing. Lewis Hamilton is around 1.5 seconds behind Max Verstappen in first. Lewis Hamilton got way in front of Max Verstappen after the restart. Very similar to lap 1 but with one key difference – Max Verstappen is in front of Lewis Hamilton. Lewis Hamilton claims Max Verstappen did a practice start with the hard compound tyres in the pit lane, along with other drivers. Lewis Hamilton is brought into the pit box and looks like he is going onto hard tyres. He now leads Valtteri Bottas by 2.654 seconds and Max Verstappen 1.227 further behind. Lewis Hamilton has now recorded the fastest lap in his last two trips around the Jeddah track. Lewis Hamilton is already building a lead at the front, with Valtteri Bottas behind him and Max Verstappen further back.
