Lewis Hamilton secures 93rd-career pole as Briton puts in flawless display at Spa ahead of Belgian Grand Prix while Ferrari have another day to forget

Lewis Hamilton produced a clinical pole lap in memory of his own superhero, whose death he woke up to on Saturday morning. All cars are over the line and it’s confirmed: Lewis Hamilton takes pole at Spa!. Both Mercedes are on their hot lap and Bottas is already two-tenths down on Hamilton after S1. Hamilton again ends the session in first ahead of Bottas while Albon takes third on the softs. All drivers bar Hamilton, Bottas, Ricciardo and Albon are back out, with Verstappen due to come out shortly. A reminder that the tyre you use to post your fastest lap in Q2 must be used from the beginning of the race tomorrow. Hamilton crosses the line with 1:42.014, and Bottas is a tenth back. A reminder that Vettel is in 19th, while Leclerc is in 14th. Mercedes pairing Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas have now made their way onto the track, while Max Verstappen is on his out lap too.
