Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s rivalry has been reflected by feuding F1 team principals Toto Wolff and Christian Horner… their war of words will come to a head in Abu Dhabi as Red Bull look to wrestle the throne back off Mercedes

The fierce rivalry between Mercedes and Red Bull, and their drivers Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, will come to a head at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as they battle it out for the drivers’ championship. While Hamilton and Verstappen have been battling for the title on the circuit, tensions have flared off-track between their respective team principals Toto Wolff and Christian Horner. Wolff said that Horner and Red Bull should get their heads down and work harder to get back to the front. Much of their early-season drama in 2021 centred around Red Bull’s rear wing and Mercedes’ front wing. But while Wolff and Mercedes did not take the issue any further with the FIA, Wolff was not willing to let Horner’s statement go unchallenged. Since the controversy at Saudi Arabia, Horner has claimed that Hamilton is ‘wily’ in wheel-to-wheel battles. This year’s championship battle for both Horner and Wolff means so much for them and their respective teams.
