Karam wins inaugural (and virtual) American Red Cross GP

(No. 24 DRR Wix Filters Chevrolet) got the virtual NTT INDYCAR SERIES season rolling Saturday with a wire-to-wire victory in the American Red Cross Grand Prix at Watkins Glen International, the debut event of the inaugural INDYCAR iRacing Challenge. Karam led all 45 laps and beat Chip Ganassi Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist (No. 10 NTT DATA Honda) by 3.61 seconds. Karam’s victory was his first in INDYCAR – virtual or otherwise. Rookie Oliver Askew (No. 7 Arrow McLaren SP) finished fifth. The second of six events will be held Saturday, April 4 on the Barber Motorsports Park circuit.
