‘It was bruising from being out of the F1 car for so long’: Lando Norris flew back to the UK to see a specialist over chest and back pains after the Styrian Grand Prix

Lando Norris took a flight back to the UK this week in a bid to cure back and chest pains in time for Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix. Despite being on painkillers, he finished a hard-fought fifth to go third in the early championship standings. Lando Norris struggled with chest and back pains during last weekend’s Styrian Grand Prix. The McLaren driver battled through the pain to finish fifth despite being on painkillers. Norris said: ‘It’s bruising from being out of the F1 car for so long, with the coronavirus delay, and then having two races on consecutive weekends, doing lap after lap, that caused a problem, especially under braking. Norris is expected to be fit for the 70-lap race at the fan-free Hungaroring.
